A live performance by Nick Diamant and Rowan Dunlop

REVOLVE dives into an uncanny hourglass of performance art, animation and abstract sculpture. A sounding board of the past and the future, these pieces invite a closer look at what's just under the surface. As mediums cross, spirals of inner clockwork explode to command imagination and destruction, and a re-examination of the known and assumed.
REVOLVE stages play vs. labor, gender vs. concealment, and movement vs. maneuverability. In a deserted and archival environment, water becomes work, expression becomes prison, and understanding buckles under grudge.
Elements range from linen and porcelain to the unyielding modern phenomena of cyanoacrylate based formulas, polyester and ABS material. The collection is a look in an old mirror, a familiar reflection made distorted and twisted, a confrontation of the prosaic with the macabre. Repetition drives the performers and pieces, pushing sanity as the subject becomes object, and action becomes subject.

About The Artists
Rowan Acadia Dunlop is a writer, artist, dancer ,and researcher. Her diverse body of work addresses war, domestic dynamics, the internet, historic artifact, and constructions of social tradition. Her artistic work blends traditional craft, modern detritus, and performance. Her pieces utilize plain weaving, stitching, knitting, carving, cosmetic products, plastic, manufacturing equipment, fast fashion, and the body itself. She received her BFA in Dramaturgy from Carnegie Mellon University, where she also specialized in Military Science.
Rowan's artistic work has been supported by The New South Young Playwright's Festival, Vermont Young Playwright's Festival, Zoomfest: a Theatrical Podcast, WOVEN, The Frank-Ratchye STUDIO for Creative Inquiry, New Product Company, the S.P.A.C.E Gallery, the North Hills Art Collective, The Brooklyn Society of Friends, and Godspeed Arts Collective.
Nikolas Diamant is a mixed-media artist. His shows incorporate performance, digital puppetry, motion tracking, projection, sound, animatronics and sculpture. Nikolas began making animations at age 10, making one animation per week from 2011 to 2017. In 2025, he is presenting a new show each month. His animations range from pen and paper to claymation to 3D computer animation. Nikolas works as a freelance illustrator, software developer, art educator, carpenter, and animator.
Nikolas received his Bachelor’s in Computer Science and Fine Arts from Carnegie Mellon University (2022). His artistic research has been sponsored by the Frank-Ratchye STUDIO For Creative Inquiry (2020-2021). He received his carpentry training from BNG Industries (2022-2024). His work has been presented in a solo exhibition at The Frame Gallery (Pittsburgh, PA, 2022), as well as various venues in NYC, including Light and Sound Design, International WOW Company, Brooklyn Central Library, and the New Product Company (2023-2025). He lives in Brooklyn, NY.
